This collection contains material related to Plymouth, New Hampshire, the state of New Hampshire, and the United States ranging from 1766 to 2011. The materials range from photographs to newspaper clippings, to maps and statistical data, as well as memorabilia from town- and state-wide events. The majority of the collection is about the town of Plymouth, ranging from bicentennial celebrations to town disasters, and also history of the town, the public library, and other major buildings/landmarks important to the town. The materials relating to the state of New Hampshire include a general history of the state, demographics, government, the White Mountains, and tourism. There are also materials on Daniel Webster, Franklin Pierce, Eva A. Speare and the Pease Family.

Processing Note: The original chronological order was maintained to the best of abilities. Items originally in solo folders were combined with other folders of similar subjects. Items that were too long or bulky were separated and put into drawers better suited.

Custodial History: The custodial history prior to coming into Pease Public Library is not entirely known.
Acquisition Information: The newspaper clippings were collected by staff members and volunteers at the Pease Public Library. The other materials came from when the library was at its previous location at the Old Court House on Court Street.
